Fireworks are synonymous with our celebration of Independence Day. In the month surrounding the July 4th holiday, about 200 people per day are seen in emergency rooms with fireworks-related injuries.

Fireworks can have a life-altering impact on consumers, including severe eye injuries, damage to and loss of limbs; even death. Most injuries are burns; two-thirds of injuries are sustained by males, and the most injured body parts are:

  • Hands and fingers – 46%
  • Eyes – 17%
  • Heads, faces, ears – 17%
  • Legs – 11%
  • Torso – 5%
  • Arms – 4%

Leave the fireworks to the experts, and enjoy one of the many professional displays taking place in our communities!
