los Unidad de Investigación Colaborativa is dedicated to improving the health of the people of Cook County through collaboration, innovation, rigorous scientific inquiry and continuous learning.

We promote action research on highly prevalent problems affecting the health of the vulnerable and diverse patient population of Cook County.
The scope of activities is broad—clinical care, health services research, medical education and community-based studies.

History

los Unidad de Investigación Colaborativa was created in 1998 to facilitate, coordinate, and lead interdisciplinary research within the Department of Medicine at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
Its goal is to promote action research on highly prevalent problems affecting the health of the vulnerable and diverse patient population of Cook County. The scope of research, therefore, is necessarily broad—spanning health services research, clinical care, and community-based studies. Although focused on conducting collaborative research, the CRU also promotes research through consultation.
