The Cook County Urology Residency program leverages a rich heritage of fulfilling our mission and serving the citizens of Cook County, while simultaneously advancing the frontiers of urological surgery.
Cook County Urología boasts a distinguished team of surgeons devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of complex adult and pediatric urologic conditions.
Our program as a whole is committed to educating a modern health care work force with the shared goal of delivering outstanding care, cutting edge research and quality education for medical students, residents and fellows. With a unique clinical experience, our program at Cook County Health is unrivaled.
Clinically, residents become proficient in urologic oncología, endourology, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted urology, pediatric urology, neurourology, sexual dysfunction, female pelvic medicine, infertility, trauma and reconstructive surgery.
Of the last five years of graduating residents:
38% percent have completed or are completing a fellowship
38% percent are working in academic institutions
50% percent are in private practice
The national pass rate for John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital del Condado de Cook Urología residents taking the American Board of Urología Part 1 written examination is 100 percent. Of the residents who have completed the Urology Residency, 100 percent are employed in this field.
There are two positions available at the PGY-1 level in the five-year Urology Residency each year.
