I am interested in use of the electronic medical record and incorporation of information technology innovations to support clinical research and public health applications. Our informatics group deployed a system to securely transfer data between healthcare entities and public health agencies, we developed an audio computer-assisted self interview platform to assess patients’ symptoms and quality of life, and we constructed a web-based system to electronically transmit bloodstream infection episodes to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
