
Dr. Erik Mikaitis serves as the Cook County Health’s Chief Quality Officer. In that role he is responsible for the direction, coordination and oversight of quality improvement, risk management, regulatory compliance, patient safety, system transformation and performance improvement functions for the health system.
Dr. Mikaitis previously served as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Franciscan Health Crown Point, where, among other duties, he led the development of safety protocols and processes during the COVID-19 pandemic and developed a new dashboard for communicating quality improvements. Dr. Mikaitis received his Master of Business Administration from DePaul University and his medical degree from Ross University.
