Victim Speaks Out after Pit Bulls Attack

January 3, 2012

CHICAGO-The Cook County Health (CCH) officials announced today that a 62-year old man is being treated after being attacked by two pit-bulls while jogging on the city’s lakefront path.

The attack took place around 6:00 a.m. Monday along a path in Rainbow Beach Park.  A resident who lives nearby came to the victim’s aid in an attempt to intervene in the attack after he heard a commotion.

When police arrived at the scene and located the 70-pound, muscular pit bulls, the dogs charged toward the officers and were fatally shot. Neither dogs had identifying microchips or tags, but were wearing matching black collars.
