Nearly 300 Toys Donated to Tots in Pediatrics Unit
CHICAGO-The Cook County Health and Hospitals System (CCHHS) announced today the kick-off of the holiday season by joining together with Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer (10th District) and leaders from the Chicago Toy and Game Group who are donating hundreds of toys to the children being cared for in the Cook County Pediatrics Department.
“The start of the holiday season is here and as we approach Thanksgiving, we are reminded that children come first at the Cook County Health System. I am very grateful that the President Preckwinkle and Commissioner Gainer along with the Toy and Game Group could come together to put the children of Cook County first and donate toys which are sure to put a smile on their face,” said Dr. Ram Raju, CEO, Cook County Health and Hospitals System.
“Whatever we can do to brighten the day of a child being treated in the Pediatrics Department is a pleasure. I am always happy to partner with organizations that dedicate additional resources to children in need,” President Preckwinkle said.
“This is the time of the year to think of children more than ever and I am proud to be part of a group who wants to make a difference for these young children at County. I would like to thank President Preckwinkle for her leadership, Dr. Raju for leading the health system which is critical to so many Cook County residents and families and the Toy and Game Group for supplying the toys for these children,” Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer (10th District.)
“On behalf of the entire Chicago Toy and Game Group, we are delighted to donate toys and games to the children housed under the Cook County Pediatrics Department during the holiday season,” said Mary Couzin, founder and CEO of the Chicago Toy & Game Group. “As part of our 10th Anniversary we’re pulling out all of the stops and finding ways to give back to the community and this is a perfect way to do just that and help others in need.”
