Cook County Health Vaccination Sites to Recognize Juneteenth and Father’s Day

Cook County Health will be celebrating Juneteenth and Father’s Day on Saturday, June 19 with live musical performances and free ice cream from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at its three mass vaccination sites. People who get vaccinated will also receive a free ticket to Six Flags Great America. (Ice cream and tickets available while supplies last.)

The mass vaccination sites are open from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 19.

  • Des Plaines Vaccination Site, 1155 E Oakton St., Des Plaines, IL  (Pfizer, J&J)
  • Forest Park Vaccination Site, 7630 W Roosevelt Rd., Forest Park, IL (Pfizer, J&J)
  • Matteson Vaccination Site, 4647 Promenade Way, Matteson, IL  (Pfizer, J&J, Moderna)

Walk-ins are welcome. The last walk-in will be accepted 30 minutes prior to close. Individuals can still make appointments at vaccine.cookcountyil.gov or by calling 833-308-1988.  As a reminder, the Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine approved for individuals age 12-17. Individuals under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to get vaccinated. The Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines are available for individuals age 18+.

Cook County Department of Public Health, in conjunction with several community-based organizations, will also celebrate Youth Day at the

Priority Vaccination Site at the Thornton Township High School gymnasium building (15001 Broadway, Harvey, IL) on Saturday, June 19. The Thornton Township site offers individuals age 12+ the Pfizer vaccine.

Youth Day will celebrate summer – featuring a cookout of free hot dogs and hamburgers from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. Anybody who gets vaccinated will also receive a free Six Flags Great America ticket. The event will feature music and several community groups will be on hand to provide families information about their services. The site will be open from 8:30 am – 5 pm  on Saturday.
