Enlaces rápidos

At Cook County Health, our ophthalmology department offers comprehensive vision care, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye conditions and diseases. Our skilled physicians are dedicated to preserving and enhancing visual health through a wide range of services from routine eye exams to advanced surgical interventions.

Comprehensive Eye Care

Regular eye examinations are crucial for detecting eye diseases early, many of which do not present symptoms until they have progressed significantly. We recommend following the American Academy of Ophthalmology guidelines for eye exams:

  • Adults under 40: Eye exams every 2-4 years.
  • Adults 40 to 64: Baseline eye disease screening, with follow-up exams as prescribed.
  • Adults 65 and older: Eye exams every 1 to 2 years.
