Cook County Health: All Are Welcome Here

Cook County Health cares for all residents, regardless of immigration status. This legacy began with Cook County Hospital’s first patient, a young girl who had recently immigrated from Germany, and continues proudly to this day.

We believe that health care is a human right, and that all people should be able to access health care safely, without fear of legal repercussions.

CCH community health centers and hospital patient care areas are private spaces. Law enforcement officials, including immigration agents, are not permitted in these areas unless invited by a patient or if the official has a signed judicial warrant. CCH is conducting training for staff members on how to protect patients’ rights in our health care facilities.

Our country is made richer by the contributions of immigrants, who help create stronger and more vibrant communities. We will continue to support and care for all Cook County residents, as we have for nearly 200 years. All are welcome here.

Support for Uninsured Patients 

CareLink is a free program that helps patients cover the cost of care at any Cook County Health facility. CareLink discounts the cost of primary care visits, specialty doctor visits, clinic visits, lab tests, hospital stays and emergency services. Anyone living in Cook County may apply for financial help. Click here for more information. 

Virtual Health Care

Cook County Health offers virtual video and telephone health care visits for many services. If a patient wishes to speak with a provider from home, call 312-864-0200 and request a virtual visit. Patients can also access virtual immediate care in multiple languages via phone or computer through CCH Express Care Monday through Friday, 7:00am-7:00pm.
