The Cook County Health and Hospitals System’s Division of Ophthalmology is proud to announce the opening of their Eye Clinic at Provident Hospital on August 25.

The clinic will provide expertise in state of the art surgical and medical ophthalmic care to all age groups. Special emphasis will be placed in treatment of common diseases that affect the eye including diabetes, glaucoma, and cataracts. In addition, comprehensive care is offered to patients suffering from a broad spectrum of common and rare eye conditions.

“Our patients can expect to receive exquisite care tailored to their individual needs. We use ground breaking technology to assist in both our diagnostic and therapeutic endeavors. Clinic services include visual field testing, ultrasound imaging, ocular coherence tomography and nerve fiber layer analysis. Our physicians utilize current methods of sophisticated care options and many eye diseases can be treated with medical, surgical or laser procedures,” said Dr. Thomas Patrianakos, Chair, Division of Ophthalmology.

The Ophthalmology clinic, located on the seventh floor of Provident Hospital, is a comprehensively equipped facility with multiple subspecialists available including: medical/surgical retina, cornea, glaucoma, and general ophthalmology.
